SoorajKeshav aka Sooraj Kumar K. N is one of my best buddies. He is a creative writer, as a creative writer, i can say he has the power to play with the words to create awesome content. As a part of his online presence, he was looking towards an official logo for his website. As usual he approached me, but i was in some sort of busy so that i couldn’t make it. To the rescue, here comes Rohith Prasanth he designed a beautiful sketch. So as the Sketch is ready next job is for me. So this is what i designed.

Backup Your WordPress Blog to Dropbox

Backup is one important task while considering the files we want for the future use. The same applies for the websites especially blogs that update regularly. You never know what catastrophic might happen to your blog, some times bad hosting problems, hackers or any some others. The best defend against all those problems is a good backup. Mostly hosting services backup your files and databases weekly or monthly , but its good to have a copy of the backup with yourself. The people who have access to the back end of the hosting especially Cpanel have backup option there, but what if you have access to only to your blog and your FTP space. Either you have to download all the files manually or use a WordPress plugin to download all the database and files. Now downloading all these manually is a sick job, mostly bandwidth wastage, time wastage etc. What if you can schedule a backup so that it backups all that files and databases to a remote location or any other file storage services like Dropbox. That is where a plugin called BackWPup comes in.

What is Dropbox?

Dropbox is a Web-based backup/file hosting service operated by Dropbox, Inc. that uses cloud computing to enable users to store and share files and folders with others across the Internet using file synchronization. Dropbox has both free and paid services. Free service provides 2GB of free online storage. For more information you may visit here.

How to backup?

First of all download the plugin from here or search from your blog plugin page and activate it.

Access the BackWPup plugin settings form the Tools panel and click Add New.

From the job settings page,

First is first, Give a name for the job.
Choose which type of job you want to do. Since we want to do a full site backup select “Database Backup” and “File Backup”.
By default, all database tables are selected, but if you want to exclude any of the table from the backup, tick those tables.
Next is File Backup. Just as above, by default all are selected, but if you want to exclude some files from the backup you may tack those files.
Backup to Dropbox. In order to backup to Dropbox, first you need to authenticate with the your Dropbox account with the blog. Click on authenticate, and it will take you to Dropbox website where it will ask your Dropbox account username and password. (If you have other paid services like Amazon S3, Rackspace cloud, you can use that.)
Job Schedule. Schedule at what time, date and month you want to backup. You can do this daily, weekly or even monthly.
Backup Prefix and File Format. Select the format you want the backup in.
If there occurred any error, it will report you by mail.

Click on save changes and your backup job is scheduled /done.

Check you Dropbox account for the backup.

Four years of my B.Tech life has finally come to an end. Its so quick! I feel like i was joined yesterday or before. Gonna miss a lot of people, my best friends, my classmates, teachers. On the last day, after exams, I just thought there needs something to remember my friends and classmates. A typography idea just pop up my mind which includes all my classmates names. I didn’t waste my time, went to home and after two and half hours of work I just created this.

Photography is awesome! The days when I was completely on to photography, I happen to see my close friend Rohith Prasanth‘s captures in his mobile. Till that day I never know he was such an awesome photographer. The shots were awesome! I couldn’t take my eyes of the collection he got. The sad thing is that nobody knows that he is such an awesome photographer. I know, what he need is a platform to share his captures. As a first step i made him a logo with a rough sketch i got from him.

The day before Cetly Live’s first anniversary, I was so busy with creating a promo video for the the anniversary celebration. Also there was a plan in changing Cetly Live’s theme for the anniversary. By midnight I was almost done with the promo but theme change was still in pending. Niju Mohan advised me to create a check list of all the things to be done after the theme change. One thing was the logo in the website. There was already a logo for Cetly Live, I just modified it and made it in to the way its suitable for the website to hold.

When ever I get requests for a design work I’ll never say NO!, because that is what i love to do. So when people from Baitul Mal Charitable Trust, a charitable organization based in Thalassery, approach me for designing their logo I damn happy to do it. So I designed a logo based on the Arabic calligraphy that says”Baitul Mal” with an Arabic style text.

Behind the Scenes of Outlook

It Takes Time to Heal

One usual day at college, me and my friend was having a conversation during lab hours( there was nothing else to do. ). He was talking about the flower that he got from someone special. He was telling me how beautiful love is and how hard life is when you have a broken heart. That moment when I noticed that flower in his hand, I feel like there was some connection with his words and the flower. Didn’t wait anymore. Took my phone and captured this.
